Introduction
The Overview tab is the main dashboard for a property in LoftyWorks. It gives you a quick understanding of how the property is performing, what actions you may need to take, and how far it has progressed in the lettings journey. What appears on this tab can change depending on the property’s current status.
Summary
- Accessing the Overview Tab

Accessing the Overview Tab
To open the Overview tab:
Go to Lettings → Properties
Click on a property’s address in the list
You will enter the Property Detail Page
The Overview tab is always the first and default tab
Notes & Communications
The centre panel includes the Notes & Communications area, where you can record and review all interactions related to this property.
With the "+" button, you can add:
Notes – general remarks
Call Log– select a contact and log the call outcome
Email Log – record that an email was sent
Text Log – log an SMS message
Key behaviours:
You choose which contact the activity relates to. If a contact has opted out of calls or texts, you cannot log those activities.
-
Every activity appears both on the Property Detail page and the Contact Detail page.
On property pages, logs show the contact name.
On lead pages, logs show the property address.
This panel works consistently across all property statuses.
Right-hand Panel – To Dos / Property Analytics
The right-hand side of the Overview tab is where you’ll find To Do items and, for Available, Under Offer, Exchanged and Sold properties, Property Analytics.
The Tasks panel shows:
-
System tasks
Automatically created by LoftyWorks and cannot be edited
Based on property status
Not assigned to any agent
Only appear within the property (not in My Tasks / Calendar)
-
Manual tasks
Created using "+" Add task
Must be assigned to an agent (default: primary negotiator)
Appear in the agent’s Task Management, Calendar, and (if linked) the Contact Detail page
Remain visible across status changes until completed
You can use the settings icon to toggle Show completed tasks and Show system tasks on/off
-
Show completed tasks
When off, completed tasks are hidden
When on, all tasks are shown
-
Show system tasks
This toggle controls whether system tasks are visible.
It is on by default.
When off, all system tasks are hidden, while manual tasks remain visible.
Both settings are remembered automatically. Your preferences are cached, so the task list will stay consistent the next time you return to the property.
When creating a manual task from a property, the task type is automatically set as a Property, and any reminders include the property details and, if linked, the contact information.
Property Analytics
You’ll see core metrics such as:
Number of applications, offers and viewings
Days on market
Online views across portals (Rightmove / Zoopla)
Portal status icons (hover to see whether the property is already published or not)
Clicking More Insights opens a detailed analytics view.
Status-specific behaviour on the Overview Tab
Instructed
You may switch a property to Instructed at any time. No checks are required.
System tasks are created to help prepare the property for marketing (e.g., landlord questionnaires, AML checks).
Some tasks require uploading certificates. Clicking Upload opens the Add Certificate form.
Manual tasks can be added via + Add task, e.g. to organise photos, schedule valuations, etc.
Available
When changing a To Let property to Available, LoftyWorks checks:
All Required property information is filled
Tasks
Manual tasks for this property, as described above
No system tasks in Available status
Before changing to Let Agreed and Let statuses, the system again checks:
Mandatory property fields
Let Agreed
Manual tasks remain visible and can be added or completed as normal.
Let
Manage portals is removed in Let status (the property should not be marketed).
System tasks focus on post-move-in compliance and handover, such as confirming deposit registration and uploading prescribed information issued to tenant...
Manual tasks continue to show and can be managed as usual.
Withdrawn
A withdrawal reason is always required before changing a property to Withdrawn.
Shows manual tasks only
If the status later changes to Instructed/Available again, system tasks regenerate based on the new status
Property Tasks Across LoftyWorks
Manual tasks created from the Overview tab appear in:
My Tasks (when you are the assignee)
Company Tasks (when filtering by Task Type: Property)
Calendar
Contact detail page (if the task is linked to a contact)
These tasks always include property information and, if applicable, the linked contact.
System tasks:
Do not appear outside the property
Do not count toward agent task totals
