Introduction
The Documents section on the tenancy detail page is a central place to store and manage all files related to a tenancy. This includes tenancy agreements, renewal documents, financial records, compliance certificates, condition reports, and formal notices. Keeping documents here ensures everything linked to the tenancy is easy to find and consistently organised.
You can access this section from Lettings > Tenancies > Tenancy Detail Page > Documents.
Summary
Document list
All tenancy documents are displayed in a table with the following information:
The list shows 5 documents by default and supports pagination. You can choose to display 5, 10 or 20 documents per page.
Adding Documents
Click + Add New at top right corner to upload a document.
When uploading, you must:
Select a Certificate type (single selection, required)
Upload a file in one of the supported formats: PDF, DOC, DOCX, TXT, ODT, PNG, JPG
Ensure the file size does not exceed 20 MB
Once uploaded, the document appears immediately in the list with its selected type.
Documents Added from Other Tenancy Actions
Documents uploaded during other tenancy workflows are automatically stored in this section:
-
Creating or editing a tenancy
-
Any files uploaded while adding tenants (for example, Right to Rent documents) are saved here, with the document type defaulted to Compliance & Legal.
-
-
Tenancy creation – Documents step
-
Files added during the dedicated Documents step are stored using the selected document type.
-
-
Renewing a tenancy
For offline renewals, the signed agreement is uploaded and saved as a Tenancy Agreement.
For online renewals (such as DocuSign or PandaDoc), only the final signed document is stored, also categorised as Tenancy Agreement.
All these files appear in the same Documents list, alongside any manually uploaded documents.
