Introduction
Smart Plans are a powerful feature within LoftyWorks that allow you to automate workflows and stay on top of your contacts. Whether you're using pre-built templates or creating your own, Smart Plans help streamline tasks and ensure timely follow-ups with minimal effort. In this article, we will guide you through accessing and managing your Smart Plans, including how to apply, pause, resume, and remove them. We'll also take a look at other helpful resources for mastering Smart Plans in LoftyWorks.

Accessing Smart Plans
To find Smart Plans, navigate to Automation > Smart Plans.
There are two tabs in Smart Plans: Plans and Library.
Plans Tab
Depending on the type of LoftyWorks account you are on, you may see options for My Smart Plans or Company Smart Plans. These are Smart Plan that have been created on your LoftyWorks account, for use with your contacts.
If Auto-Apply is turned ON, then the Smart Plan will automatically run for any applicable contacts in your LoftyWorks CRM. Auto-Apply can be enabled on your own Smart Plans, as well as on Company Smart Plans.
By turning it off, this smart plan will no longer automatically apply to new matched contacts, but it will continue running on the contacts that it already applied on. To stop it on all the contacts, click Settings Cog Wheel under Action > "Remove from contacts".
Managing Plans
Within the Plans tab, in addition to viewing key information such as the plan name, contact type, duration, application conditions, and the number of contacts applied to, you can also manage your smart plans through the Action column.
- Preview: By clicking on the Eye icon, you can preview the plan.
- Edit: Editing a smart plan shares the same steps with creating one, check Creating Smart Plans for details.
- Keep in mind that you can only edit Company Smart Plans if you have the correct permissions(relink) enabled. This is because changing the Company Smart Plans will affect the whole account.
- Copy
- Pause: The Smart Plan will be paused for all applied contacts.
- Resume: The Smart Plan will resume for all applied contacts, as long as the plan is eligible to be resumed.
- Remove from contacts
- Delete
Mass Action
By checking the box next to plan name, you can select multiple plans and mass pause or resume them:
List/Card View
You can switch between a list view or a card view to view and manage your Smart Plans according to your preference.
In the top-right corner of the Plans tab, click + Create Smart Plan to choose from the following options:
From Scratch: This will take you directly to the page to build your workflow from the ground up.
From Template: This directs you to the Library tab, where you can browse and select a pre-built template to get started quickly.
Library Tab
The Smart Plans Library is full of templates that can be imported into "My Smart Plans" or "Company Smart Plans". To find the Library, navigate to Automation > Smart Plans > Library.
To search for specific templates, you can use the search box by plan's name or filter templates by:

You can switch between a list view or a card view to view and manage your Smart Plans Templates according to your preference.
In the top-right corner of the Library tab, click + Create From Scratch also brings you to the Creating Smart Plans process.
Applying and Removing Smart Plans
There are different ways to remove and apply Smart Plans to contacts.
1. Apply/Remove from the Smart Plan page(mentioned in Plans Tab)
- Apply: Any Smart Plan that has "auto-apply" enabled will automatically apply to contacts who meet the criteria. If auto-apply is disabled, you will need to manually apply the Smart Plan to contacts.
- Remove: To remove a Smart Plan from all contacts, click the Settings Cog Wheel > Remove from contacts as mentioned earlier.
2. Apply/Remove from the Contacts page
To manually apply/remove a smart plan for multiple contacts (not using auto-apply), navigate to the Contacts Page and check the box next to the contacts you want to apply/remove a Smart Plan to. Select the More menu > Smart Plan > Add/Remove Smart Plan
- Apply: Next, select the Smart Plan and click Apply

3. Apply/Remove from the Contact's profile
- Apply: Smart Plans can also be manually applied from the contact's profile:

Remove: Delete the Smart Plan for an individual contact by hovering over the Smart Plan and clicking the trash can icon.
Pausing and Resuming Smart Plans
Pause any Smart Plans that you want to stop for a period of time so that you do not want the automations to continue. This could be if you are out of the office or taking time away from work. When you resume the Smart Plan, it will pick up right where it left off.
There are two ways to pause and resume your Smart Plans.
1. Pause/Resume from the Smart Plan page
This way is mentioned earlier: Mass Action
The Smart Plans will pause/resume for all of the contacts that are enrolled in that plan.
2. Pause/Resume from the Contacts page
Navigate to Contacts Page → select the contacts you want to pause/resume a Smart Plan → Click More → Select Smart Plan → Select the option you want.
The Smart Plans that are applied to the selected contacts will be available in the pop-up. Select the plans that you want to pause/resume. This will pause/resume the selected Smart Plans only for the selected contacts.
