LoftyWorks offers the ability to raise invoices automatically in both Xero and LoftyWorks saving you time and effort. Rent invoices are among the most frequently generated invoices, as these are often generated on a recurring basis.
It is recommended to set up automated invoicing when you first enter the property details to LoftyWorks. When you add the property, you must assign a tenant and landlord, as well as set the rent amount, payment schedule, and due date. If this information is not entered, the ability to configure invoices to raise automatically will be unavailable. If you try to set it up without this information, LoftyWorks will notify you and let you know what details are missing.
Activating the auto-invoice feature is simple once all of the data has been entered. The invoicing panel has a switch for Auto-Invoice which must be switched on as shown below:
The initial invoice for any property must be created manually via the Invoice option on LoftyWorks. However, once you've done it once for the Rent, you won't have to do it again, and invoices will be generated automatically in the future.
The Invoice button, which is located under the Contract, which also eliminates the need for you to manually raise the invoice in Xero because it pulls the necessary information from LoftyWorks.
When you click the Invoice button, a draft invoice should pop up as shown in the image below. All fields must be filled appropriately with the Add Rent option making it easier to generate the first rent invoice.
Once the invoice is raised in LoftyWorks, the same invoice will automatically be raised in Xero.
In the example below, you can see that the invoice information for the rent demand has already been filled in automatically, eliminating the need for you to manually enter it.
However, at this point, you are still able to make any necessary changes if required. You could include an additional line for the tenant's deposit if it is a new tenancy so you don't have to make a separate invoice. The future invoices that LoftyWorks will create automatically won't be impacted by this. As a result, you can also use this button to raise any invoice for that specific property as long as you change the data and account number because it will already be filled with the rental information.
