If you are looking to understand what is the difference between a standard Property and a Parent Property, the linked article should explain the difference.
Before you add a Parent Property, it is important to understand that you can only create a Parent Property and link it to a standard Property if they have the same Landlord Structure. Once you have decided that you would like to add a Parent Property and checked (or updated) the Landlord Structure, then you can go ahead and add a Parent Property.
Step 1
Locate the Property tab, and then select Parent Properties from within and Add Parent Property
Step 2
Within this first page, you can enter key information including the name of the Parent Property (often this is the name of the Apartment Block or the name of the house in the case of an HMO). Moreover, it is important that you assign the correct Landlord within this section
Once you are satisfied with this information, then select Add Associated Properties. From here, you will see a list of Properties linked to that Landlord, and you can tick the ones that you would like to link to this Parent Property. As noted above, once you have linked a Property to a Parent Property, you cannot undo this action.
You will have a final opportunity to Modify or Confirm the list
